For your first visit to C-O2 you will need to bring your Alberta Health Care card and your medications (doses and strengths). You are welcome to bring a companion or interpreter to ensure your clear understanding of assessment results and follow up requirements.
Generally you can expect a pulmonary function test, chest X-ray (if there are no contraindications) and have your blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation checked. As well, your height, weight and waist measurements will be taken.
Yes. There is no special preparation for your first visit. If you are required to return for further testing, you will receive a pamphlet outlining any special preparation.
No. All services provided at C-O2 are covered by Alberta Health Services. Quebec residents must pay fees for testing and seek reimbursement from their provincial health care. Please note there is a metered parking lot at the Rockyview Health Centre II.
Yes. Your family doctor receives the results of all consultations, testing and follow-up appointments.
Yes. For us to see you at the C-O2 Clinic your family doctor or another physician must refer you.
No. You should not experience any side effects to testing done at C-O2. You will able to drive yourself home.
